Some inspirations from a fancier in Zhengzhou Huayuan Loft with GPS tacker in 2020.

It was the experience from a fancier in Zhengzhou Huayuan public loft final game below.

some inspirations after using the GPS tracker

In the Zhengzhou Huayuan Loft final game which ended up in the middle of November, the host used the pigeon GPS tracker for the game. I sent my pigeons to join the game and I experienced it luckily. It was quite fresh and profitable, and upside-down my idea before. I thought the pigeons should at least find a place to drink or take a break even if they don't feed in the level of 500 KM games. The grades of the game depended on whether the flight path was straight and how long the pigeons rested. However, according to the data from the GPS trackers, not only the high-grade pigeons, but many lower-grade or returned on the day flew back to the loft without rest. How amazing the perseverance was.

By reading the data from the GPS tracker, I got some inspiration below

The first was knowing ourselves:

We knew more about our pigeons in the details of the game. For example, the tail number"972", started from Wuhan to Xiaogan. Not knowing what happened, it went south back to near Wuhan and went back to west-north. It went back and forth and wasted one and half an hour. (picture 1)

Another example number"982", flew across the Yellow River from the west of the loft to the north. It would have been home if it had gone south. But it kept on going north to Xiuwu and came back the next day. (picture 2)

Number"984", it turned a big curve to Luoyang and rested through a night and came back in the next morning. (picture 3)

However, the fancier should never judge them just from the data of a single game. Since in the extra game in a week, "984" and"972" learned the lecture, gaining 54th and 118th place each. The pigeons have powerful learning skills. We shouldn't judge them with prejudice.

The second was knowing the opposites:

While taking care of our pigeons, we might also notice other's pigeons. Especially as we had a demand for introduction, we should have studied beforehand. On the basis of thorough knowledge and analysis, we could consider whose to introduce and which one to do so without impulse. According to the tracker data, we saw some pigeons might take a break during the games, and some could stop flying. The reasons for the pigeons to rest might be below:

1. Illness, sub-health or getting injured by electric wires, branches or barriers etc. These made their stamina insufficient.

2. Does it relate to the breeds? Some are good at dashing and short-distance matches but lack perseverance. They need to rest when they are exhausted.

3. Close breeding.

4. The pigeons were moulted and the main feathers weren't complete. This situation was surely more common in the youth teams in autumn. The home pigeons might solve this by modifying the feather, drugs, or light. But in the public lofts, things can only go with the flow. Some pigeons losing speed suddenly might be due to the main feathers changing sequentially. The main feathers needed some time to grow up and that might face the problem that one hadn't grown up enough but the next one had changed else.

5. The pigeons faced bad weather such as the temperature rising or dropping all of a sudden, strong wind, rain or smog. (surely these didn't happen this time) We could avoid the problem effectively by analyzing the reasons.

The third was "Big wave wash the sand, gold wash from the sand"

In this final game with 510 KM distance, 2 pigeons of mine were in the top 500th, which were the 86th and the 231st. After I compared these two GPS data, I found the highest m/min and average m/min of the 231st were higher than the 86th. The 231st was 2760 and 985.5 m/min, but the 86th was 1740 and 966.32 m/min. (picture 4,5,6 are of the 231st)(picture 7,8,9 are of the 86th)

Common knowledge and experience told us that a pigeon with a higher m/min must be better than a lower one. But how come this didn't suit these two pigeons? Why? After studying and comparing the data several times, I found out an important thing: the flight speed of the 86th came to zero at 14:04:47(which means it lands on the loft), and the real flight distance was 521.44 KM. The loft showed its homing time was 14:07:51.830. The difference was about 3 minutes. That was normal. The flight speed of the 231st came to zero earlier than the 86th. It was 13:54:56(which means the 231st lands in the loft earlier than the 86th for 10 minutes.) and the real flight distance was 528.24, but its homing time was 14:14:46.130. It delayed about 20 minutes of homing. I looked up the top 10 GPS data. The time of flight speed turning to zero which meant it landed on the loft follows the place order below:

picture 10, the 1st place 13:54:52

picture 11, the 2nd place 13:54:53

picture 12, the 3rd place 13:54:53

picture 13, the 4th place 13:54:54

picture 14, the 5th place  13:55:49

picture 15, the 6th place 13:55:09

picture 16, the 7th place 13:54:54

picture 17, the 8th place 13:54:53

picture 18, the 9th place 13:54:53

picture 19, the 10th place 13:55:36

I wouldn't know if I hadn't looked it up. It turned out that the 231th landed on the loft with the top 10 at the same time as the first echelon. (I didn't compare with the data under the top 10.) Maybe it struggled too tough and was too tired. It stayed for 20 minutes before coming home. Therefore it missed the good grades. That was quite a pity. However, this detection made me find a tressure and pretty excited. To see is not really to believe. Gold hides in the sand. I got new recognization to the 231st by the data above and turned from selling out to paying back. If it hadn't been the GPS tracker, I might haven't known the secret forever, and have buried its talent. Hence, I must appreciate Huayuan Loft and the Jixiangle Skyleader GPS tracker.

I also came up with a game in 2011. It was the final game of Zhongxin loft. There were 18 pigeons in the first echelon. When the other 17 pigeons went home, my last one just stepped in slowly and got 18th place. There was no GPS tracker then and thankfully the second echelon hadn't arrived yet when the 18th went home. Or it was hard to say the pigeon was in the first or the second echelon. After many years, arriving first but not stepping in happened again. I wonder the reason why. Since the 231st and 18th were in the same way, I should analyze and found out a solution to avoid the tragedy.

In this game, I thought the performance of the 86th and 231st was fair. According to the GPS data, the real flight distance of the 86th was 521 KM. It was smart, good at orientation and flew linearly. Though the 231st flew more 7 KM than the 86th, its speed was higher and even arrived earlier by 10 minutes. From the picture, we see that the 86th was in lack of complete main feathers. That was tough! The 231st was luckily in perfect condition.

The fourth was to analyze the GPS data

We will be able to be ration by technological methods when we choose to sell or introduce. They make the main point of introducing more accurate with less subjective ideas.

The GPS tracker nowadays was able to read the data after the game ended up and checked the pigeons. It was a late broadcast and the pigeons which didn't come back would get lost. That was a pity. I was much eager to know what happened to those missing pigeons. I hope there will be live streaming from the beginning to coming back instantly in the future. That will be more entertaining and interesting.

The GPS tracker was a new product and hadn't been widespread yet. And it still needed some modification, but I'm convinced that will must be popular in the future.
